New Delhi:
It's finally time for Kangana Ranaut's new film Simran, which is releasing tomorrow. The actress has been trending incessantly for the past few days but for updates about her alleged love life and not for the movie. Amidst all the interest in Kangana's personal life and her explosive comments about the two Bollywood celebrities (Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar) she's soured her relationships with, Simran appears to have been a little side-lined. Ahead of the movie, here's a round-up of what the movie has to offer. Directed by Hansal Mehta, Simran casts Kangana Ranaut as the protagonist, who is a divorcee and settled abroad. But Kangana's role is actually characterised by two deadly traits - she's a gambler and an occasional shop-lifter.
The trailer of the movie reveals that Simran also appears to have split personality. Watch the trailer of Simran here:
Kangana Ranaut was also in the midst of a controversy regarding Simran's authorship after the writer of the movie - Apurva Asrani - claimed that Kangana has been unduly credited for the film's script. A prolonged row later, Kangana claimed in a statement that it was Apurva who had suggested that Kangana's name be considered for additional writing credits. "Somehow people make it look like Apurva has not been given his credit, that is not true. We made the contract exactly the way he wanted it to be, in fact, Apurva is the one who suggested me to take additional credit for dialogue writing. So we made the contract that way," Kangana told IANS in August.
Simran will mark Kangana Ranaut's second movie this year after Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon. Simran has reportedly been certified after 10 cuts, with swear words and intimate scenes being chopped off from the movie.
