Irish singer-songwriter SineadO'Connor has slammed TV talent shows, insisting they lureyoung people into a "worship of fame" rather than worryingabout making good music.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer, famed for her outspokenviews, says she is not a fan of music shows as she believesthey promote fame and riches rather than writing and singinggood songs, Contactmusic reported.
"Well sadly that's the way the world is, that we're allbrought up to believe material success and everything is whereit's at, and the music business has gone that way, hasn't it?With all these shows, 'Pop Idol' and blah, blah.
"The entertainment is fantastic, but often those shows,they give this kind of thing, it's like this worship of fame,that people just want to be famous, do you know what I mean?You don't really hear people going 'Oh, I want to be a singer'or 'I've got something, I really want to get it off my chest'or whatever," she said.
