Singer Sonu Niigaam has alleged that he has been receiving threats from underworld don Chhota Shakeel, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim.
Sources say that Chhota Shakeel allegedly demanded that the singer's concert tour planned for 2014 be managed by a Dubai-based company.
Mr Niigaam has not filed an official complaint yet but did inform the police by phone. He is currently not in India.
Sonu Niigaam won the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2004 for the film Kal Ho Naa Ho. His other hit films include Parineeta, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Agneepath.
