London:
Slash gets bored by rock music's obsession with drugs.
The former Guns N' Roses guitarist accepts that alcohol and drugs will forever be synonymous with rock 'n' roll but he insists that the music is always more important than partying.
Slash - who quit drinking and drugs years ago - said: "It's boring that all anyone talks about is the drugs but it was the same with my old bands too. Everybody focused on all the bulls**t we had going on. I suppose this is how people want their rock stars to be."
On his second solo album Apocalyptic Love Slash deals with his hard-partying days in the 80s and 90s in several songs.
The track Not For Me includes the lyrics You can keep your high life in the hills / Your cocaine lies and whisky thrills / I don't need you anymore / This is not for me, no."
