New Delhi: Movie-goers seem to have taken a fancy to Zoya Akhtar's 'dysfunctional' Mehras with their film Dil Dhadakne Do minting a little over Rs 37 crore in its opening weekend, just a shade behind this year's best performer so far Tanu Weds Manu Returns which collected about Rs 38 crores in its first weekend.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:

Starring Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra and Shefali Shah, Dil Dhadakne Do revolves around the batty Mehra family who are put on board a cruise ship by director Zoya Akhtar.

Meanwhile, Aanand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu Returns, starring Kangana Ranaut, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan, continues its 'victory march.'

As does the 'unstoppable' PK, starring Aamir Khan. The film, which created history on June 7 by fetching Bollywood its first Rs 100 crore from a single country abroad, has minted Rs 107 crore at the Chinese box office at last count.

The Dhanush-produced South film, Kaaka Muttai, has also spiced-up box office collections by making a decent Rs 3.35 crore.

With good news from all quarters, good times seem here to stay for a Bollywood which was starved of revenues just four films ago.
