Sonam Kapoor: Fawad Khan is Gorgeous and Gifted

New Delhi: Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is a gorgeous and gifted actor, says his Khoobsurat co-star Sonam Kapoor, adding that he once became a part of a 'dinner table conversation' at her house.

At a television event to showcase the film, Sonam said,"What does one say about a man who is gorgeous and gifted with magnificent acting talent? When we were looking at the casting for the character of Vikram, we needed someone who could look royal effortlessly."

Sonam also said that the actor's name was suggested by several of her mother's friends who are die-hard fans of Fawad's Pakistani television shows such as Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai."Soon he became our dinner table conversation and that's when my sister Rhea decided to contact him for the film. And the rest as they say is history," the 34-year-old actress added.

The Aisha actress is all praises for Fawad. "Very few people know that Fawad is a funny guy in real life. They get to see his shy and intense side more often though, which we don't mind at all," Sonam added.

Khoobsurat, which is based on the 1980 film of the same name, is directed by Shashanka Ghosh. Besides Sonam and Fawad, it was supported by a cast of talented actors like Aamir Raza Husain, Ratna Pathak and Kirron Kher.

Sonam says that Khoobsurat is a 'universal film' and hopes that the television audience enjoys it.

"Television is an integral part of a household. It acts as a catalyst in bringing the entire family together," said Sonam.

The Shashanka Ghosh-directed movie narrates the story of a free spirited physiotherapist Mili played by Sonam who enters a royal palace to treat a wheelchair bound royalty. The palace is manned by a strict and authoritative Queen Nirmala Devi, portrayed by actress Ratna Pathak.

Mili, who comes in with the approach that 'you need to treat the patient before you treat the disease', decides to lighten the dull environment at the palace, and in the process, falls in love with the Prince, played by Fawad.
