Sonam Kapoor is Girl, Interrupted by Her Mother in Khoobsurat Song

Sonam Kapoor is Girl, Interrupted by Her Mother in Khoobsurat Song

New Delhi:

Sonam Kapoor was 'just about to kiss him' when she was rudely interrupted by a phone call from her mother. This happened for reel in the new song from her movie Khoobsurat, co-starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. (Also Read: Fawad Khan's Khoobsurat Experience With Sonam Kapoor)

Maa Ka Phone is a hilarious lament for Sonam's interrupted love life, her would-be romantic trysts with Fawad forever disrupted by a steady stream of interfering female relatives from her mother (played by Kirron Kher) to assorted aunts and grandmothers. What's more, not one of them displays any rukawat ke liye khed.

In this remake of the 1980 Hrishikesh Mukherjee hit, Sonam plays the role originated by Rekha and takes her name - Dr Milli Chakravarty - from another Hrishikeshda film, Mili. Fawad Khan - of whom there is disappointingly little in the song - plays a princely Rajput by the name of Vikram Rathore. His autocratic mother is played in the modern update by Ratna Pathak Shah, daughter of Dina Pathak who played the role in the original film.

Khoobsurat, releasing later this month, also stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Bengali actor Prosenjit.
