All set for the release of her first biopic, Neerja, actress Sonam Kapoor met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai on January 20.
Sonam, 30, will be seen in the role of Neerja Bhanot, who is the youngest personality to win the Ashoka Chakra in India, in the Ram Madhvani-directed film.
The biopic is based on the life of Neerja, who was a 23-year-old girl Pan Am flight attendant. Pan Am 73 was the flight hijacked by Libyan terrorists in Karachi in 1986. "Neerja is a special film. Sonam met the chief minister regarding her film last night," sources said.
The film, which also has veteran actress Shabana Azmi in a key role, is scheduled to release on February 19.
