Sonam Kapoor prefers to play it safe and swears off Galliano's designs after an anti-semitic video of him surfaced online.
The actress, who loves wearing creations by John Galliano, is shocked at the statements allegedly passed by the designer and is so upset that she has sworn off his outfits and accessories.
Says a source, "She is extremely fashion conscious and loves wearing the brand's outfits, especially those designed by Galliano. For Aisha, a majority of Sonam's outfits and accessories came from the designer label.
She even possesses a few outfits from the fashion house. But she could never condone anti-Semitic statements no matter how much she loves the designer.
She was on Twitter when she first heard that Galliano had passed such remarks."
Sonam feels that though John is a genius, no one has the liberty to make such statements. "She is disgusted and has decided not to wear the brand."
Fashion designer John Galliano was arrested in Paris recently for verbally attacking a woman and for making anti-Semitic insults after a drinking session. French prosecutors have ordered him to stand trial on the charges of public insults based on the origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity over his remarks. Though he issued an apology, Galliano has been sacked from the house. He could spend up to six months in prison if convicted.
Oscar winning Israeli American actress Natalie Portman, who's associated with the brand, has also severed ties as the Galliano scandal picked up momentum.
