Playing a cop as well as a gangster in two different films can be quite a learning experience. At least Sonu Sood feels so.
The actor who is enacting the role of Dawood Ibrahim in Sanjay Gupta's film Shootout at Wadala says, "I have done lots of research for the role. I read books written by S Hussain Zaidi who is known for his deep insights into Mumbai's underworld."
If playing a don is exciting enough, then Sonu is doubly thrilled about playing a cop in Kabeer Kaushik's film Maximum which is ready for release.
The actor says, "This role is really special to my heart. I have put everything into it. I am playing an encounter specialist-cop who goes through ups and downs in his professional career. Though he's deep into the world of law and crime, he is also a family man at heart."
The actor who has also shared screen space with Naseeruddin Shah in Maximum, says that the veteran actor is like an institution in himself. "It is a great learning experience. Very few actors come as prepared on the sets as he. He is always equipped with his lines, body language, etc."
On an introspective note, Sonu says that he has always followed his instincts.
"I am not in a hurry. I rather wait for something that's genuinely exciting," says the actor.
He also expresses his delight in the fact that people are finally appreciating good scripts. In the midst of all this, Sonu wants to take off to the US for a few days with his two young sons.
