Bengaluru: If you had planned to watch Rajinikanth do what he does on screen in the comfort of a five star hotel in Bengaluru, you had better make other plans now. Several hotels had scheduled screenings of Kabali but are having to cancel because of the lack of government permission. There had been objections to the hotels' plans.
D R Jairaj, Vice-President of the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce, said, "Illegally they may screen it, but not legally. It is not legalised because there is a lot of procedure to be followed to obtain a licence to screen a film in a premises. Without going to that, straight away they are issuing tickets. Screening means, even in choultries also they may start."
Some of the planned shows at hotels had already been fully booked at Rs 1,300 a ticket. But with permission for the screening not being granted, well-heeled Rajini fans had better hope they can still get hold of tickets at the regular theatres screening of what is expected to be the next blockbuster.
Kabali stars Rajinikanth as a mafia boss operating out of Malaysia with Radhika Apte playing his wife.
