Chennai:
The second edition of the 'Mirchi Music Awards' covering the four South Indian film industries will be held on July 23.
This year, music artistes from South India get a chance to win 15 awards across categories in each language.
There will also be two special awards decided exclusively by Radio Mirchi listeners Radio Mirchi Listener's Choice awards given to 'Best song of the year' and 'Film album of the year' in each language, according to a press statement.
Top Music directors, Gangai Amaran (Tamil), D Suresh Babu (Telugu), Hamsalekha (Kannada) and Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri (Malayalam) will be the chairmen for the juries for the respective languages.
Prashanth Panday, CEO, Radio Mirchi, said the first edition received a very warm welcome and positive feedback last year and intended to make this year's event bigger and better.
"This is Radio Mirchi's way of honoring an industry that is an integral part of us," he said.
"Mirchi Music Awards binds the entire music fraternity by recognising all those who have passion for music, be it writing, composing or singing," said Gangai Amaran, a noted musician.
The event will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.
