London:
Pop star Melanie Brown, better known as Scary Spice, is single again after splitting from her husband of three-years Stephen Belafonte.
The Hollywood producer has already contacted divorce lawyers in Los Angeles about a legal separation, reported Mirror online.
"It's over. Mel's coming back to the UK soon, but I won't be coming with her," Belafonte told the newspaper confirming the news.
The couple wed in 2007 just six months after Brown's bitter split from actor Eddie Murphy, who is the father of her three-year-old daughter Angel.
Only days ago the couple, both 35, were photographed kissing over lunch, and Brown has posted Twitter updates referring to her "hubby".
"They've not been happy for a long time and there's been rowing. Mel has been talking about getting out. She's making plans to come back to the UK on a more permanent basis," said a source close to the singer.
"Part of the problem is jealousy. They are both livid when the other one gets attention for another person. They constantly want to know where the other one is... it's been an ongoing problem right from the start," added the source.
Ironically, US TV viewers will next week see the family together when the former Spice Girl's reality show The Mel B Project.
