SPYder is winning the US box office with the premiere and opening day collection amounting to a little over $11 million, reports trade analyst Ramesh Bala. In USA,
SPYder occupied 800 screens, making it the second biggest Telugu release after S S Rajamouli's
Baahubali: The Conclusion. The film opened in theatres worldwide on Wednesday and it has been an instant hit. The film's Tamil and Telugu versions have collectively made around Rs 64 lakh in a day. According to Ramesh Bala, these box office figures are 'excellent.' Mahesh Babu, who primarily made Telugu films,
debuted in Tamil cinema with SPYder, which has been directed by A R Murugadoss, who has made hit films like
Ghajini and
Thuppakki.

Cine-goers, who watched
Mahesh Babu's new film FDFS, loved it. "Mahesh and SJ Surya top notch performances," said on Twitter user while another added, "A R Murugadoss is a genius." SJ Surya, star of films like
Anbe Aaruyire and
Isai, played antagonist opposite Mahesh Babu.
SPYder also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Bharath, RJ Balaji and Jayaprakash in pivotal roles.
Of his Tamil film debut, Mahesh Babu told news agency IANS: "I've been having sleepless nights. I'm nervous, but at the same time excited.
SPYder is my debut in Tamil and I feel like a debutant despite being an actor for 18 years."
After
SPYder Mahesh Babu will be seen in Koratala Siva's
Bharat Ane Nenu and Vamsi Paidipally's next film, tentatively titled
Mahesh 25.
