K Balachander achieved a casting coup with his 1976 hit film Moondru Mudichu starring the actress. All of 13, Sridevi played the object of two men's affections, the good-hearted Balaji, played by Kamal Haasan, and the womanizing Prasath, played by Rajinikanth.
