Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who feels he was too old to play on screen superhero, has done 80per cent of the stunts for his upcoming film Ra.one himself.
"I think maybe I am too old to play a superhero but Istill gave it a shot. And I am happy that we have pulled itoff well. I have performed almost 75 to 80 per cent of thestunts on my own. It was very difficult at times," he saidduring the theatrical trailer launch of his latest venture.
Ra.one, a science-fiction superhero film, has beendirected by Anubhav Sinha and produced under the banner ofKhan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Besides Khan, it alsofeatures Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal.
Talking about his Ra.one experiences, the 45-year-old actor said, "If you have to do a superhero film then youhave to be physically fit and mentally strong. It wasdifficult to wear the harness inside the suit. With it onecannot eat food. I lost six-seven kgs."
"A lot of things were difficult. The most painful wasthe train sequences. The most enjoyable was landing on thetrain as I did it in front of my son, who was very impressed.Now, when I see the shots of the film I feel shocked."
King Khan said he was inspired by his friend HrithikRoshan's film Krrish and always had a strong desire to do asuperhero movie.
"I love comic and superhero films. I am very muchinspired by films like Krrish and Drona. Since childhoodI used to tie towel on my shoulders, wear blue tights, redswimming costume and used to jump from a height. I loved comicsuperheroes and films like Teesri Akan, Paras Mani. Ialways had this desire to do superhero films."
"I was really happy to see Krrish. Drona was afantastic effort. There is no comparison, but my film isinspired by all these films. I don't want to overtake anyone,"the popular actor said.
Khan said he was happy that Krrish 2 was being made. "I am really keen on the film and hope that Duggu(Hrithik) makes it ten times or 100 times better than thisfilm (Ra.one)," he said.
