SS Rajamouli recently confirmed that his father and he are working on the story of RRR 2. According to Variety's report, the filmmaker has confirmed to the media house that the "sequel of the film is currently being worked out by his father, V Vijayendra Prasad." SS Rajamouli reportedly discussed the sequel at a screening of RRR in Chicago over the weekend. He said, "My father is the story writer for all my films. We discussed a bit about ['RRR 2'] and he's working on the story."
SS Rajamouli and V Vijayendra have given many hits together. The father-son duo have given films like Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion. V Vijayendra also wrote RRR. Vijayendra Prasad's other works include Salman Khan's .Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Magadheera and Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi among others.
RRR, which was released in March, featured Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film opened to positive reviews and has reportedly earned over Rs 1000 crore at the global box office.
The film centers around two Indian revolutionaries - Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem - played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR respectively, who together fight against British rule. The period drama is set in the 1920s.
The film was recently released in Japan.
Other than RRR 2, SS Rajamouli is working on a film with superstar Mahesh Babu, which he called a "globetrotting adventure."
