Black Eyed Peas singer Fergiehas filed legal documents to legally change her name fromStacy Ann Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel.
The 38-year-old singer, who is pregnant with her firstchild with her actor husband Josh Duhamel, has filed documentsin Los Angeles requesting to officially change her name,reported TMZ online.
The star, who has been married for more than four years,wants to change her name in order to 'conform to the firstname which she is commonly and professionally known as, andhas been for many years.'
In order for the court to grant her request, the singermust publish a notice about her new name in a local newspaperfor four consecutive weeks.
A hearing has been scheduled for the matter for August 16and the singer is likely to be granted her request if shecompletes the task.
