He may be the Mozart of Madras but it's Ontario, Canada that's named a street in honour of Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman.
Rahman, who was in Ontario to attend an event celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema, posted a picture of himself holding up a street sign that reads Allah-Rakha Rahman St on his social media accounts.
He also tweeted: "Welcome to my street"
Much-awarded for the soundtrack of the film Slumdog Millionaire and the man behind the music in hit Bollywood films like Dil Se, Lagaan, Rang De Basanti and Rangeela, A R Rahman is now literally streets ahead of his contemporary musicians.
