Sunny Deol: Don't want to enter politics, happy being actor
Sunny Deol will be next in Shilpa Shetty’s production Dishkiyaoon.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol todaysaid he did not harbour any political ambitions and hencewould not join that field but will campaign for "good"candidates as and when needed.

"I will not enter politics I don't have any suchambition. I am very much happy being an actor as you get to dowhat you want. I have gathered this from my dad (Dharmendrawho was in politics) that (in politics) you depend on so manypeople to get a job done and if you made a promise and then ifyou don't do it. Then it is not good," Sunny told PTI.

According to some media reports, Sunny was likely tocontest against Congress minister Manish Tewari from Ludhianaseat. However, Congress has replaced Tewari and given ticketto Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Sunny's father Dharmendra was BJP MP from Bikanerconstituency in Rajasthan in 14th Lok Sabha.Recently, Sunny campaigned for BJP candidate andformer Mumbai police commissioner Satyapal Singh in Baghpatdistrict of western Uttar Pradesh. He took part in a road showorganised by Satyapal Singh.

"If I like the candidate and he is good and needssupport then I will be there. Satyapal Singh has done goodthings as commissioner of the city. He left everything andjoined politics which is good. As we need that kind of peoplewho are positive and will go out and do something good for thecountry," Sunny said.

Sunny said citizens are "duty bound" to exercisefranchise so as to elect "good" government.
