Mumbai:
Sunny Leone of Jism 2 fame is all set to pull in the crowds at the dahi handi celebrations to be organised in Pune by a local NCP leader Kiran Dagade Patil.
Despite the fact that the adult film star's bold poses on hoardings of her Bollywood debut film unnerved many in the NCP Mumbai unit, Kiran Dagade Patil is keen on her presence at the event.
The NCP leader, who is the district vice-president of the NCP, has invited Sunny Leone as the chief guest for the dahi handi celebrations and paid Rs 5 lakh to rope in the actress.
"We have a group called Akhil Bavdhan Dahihandi Mandal and every year we celebrate the festival on a big scale," Kiran Dagade Patil said. "This year we decided to bring Sunny Leone and through one of our friends, we managed to rope in the Jism 2 actress and decided to pay Rs 5 lakh for her presence," he added.
NCP MP not amused
NCP MP and former city party president Vandana Chavan, who is in Delhi, expressed surprise over the enthusiasm shown by her party workers in extending an invitation to Sunny Leone.
"There is a drought-like situation in the state and it is surprising to know that people are ready to spend Rs 5 lakh to invite a celebrity as a chief guest," she said. Vandana Chavan said she would take up the issue with the party high command.
