Superman Returns star Brandon Routh has joined the cast of Arrow.
The 34-year-old actor will appear in the third season in a recurring role as Ray Palmer, also known as DC superhero the Atom, reported Variety.
In the show, Ray becomes the new owner of Queen Consolidated, playing an important role in the lives of Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). (Also Read: The new Superman-Batman movie begins)
The Atom can alter the size of his body and other objects, and has previously appeared in the Cartoon Network's Young Justice series. It will be the first time he has appeared in a live action project.
Brandon played the lead role in 2006's Superman Returns. His TV credits include NBC's Chuck and CBS's Partners.
Devon Aoki has also joined Arrow as Katana, while Peter Stormare and Karl Yune will star as well.
Arrow premieres its third season on October 8.
