Suriya's brother Karthi shared an update on the actor's health on Thursday afternoon and revealed that he has now tested negative for COVID-19. Suriya, who was undergoing Covid-19 treatment at a hospital in Chennai, is back home and will be in quarantine for a few days. His brother tweeted: "Anna is back home and all safe! Will be in home quarantine for a few days." Karthi also thanked all the fans and well-wishers in his tweet and added, "Can't thank you all enough for the prayers and best wishes." A few days ago, Suriya revealed in a Twitter post that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Suriya was admitted to a hospital in Chennai last week after he contracted the virus. He posted a tweet in Tamil, which translates to: "I am undergoing treatment for Covid-19 and am better now. Let us all realise that life hasn't returned to normalcy yet. We also cannot be filled with fear and let life come to a standstill. We still need to be careful and safe. Lots of love and gratitude to the dedicated doctors and medical staff standing by my side."

In terms of work, the actor was last seen in Soorarai Pottru, which released on OTT streaming platform Amazon Prime Video in November. He has signed an untitled film with director Siruthai Siva. Suriya, who made his debut in 1997 with Nerukku Ner, is best known for his work in the Singam series of films, Kaakha Kaakha Vaaranam Aayiram, Nandha, Ghajini, 24 among many others.
