Kai Po Che, the movie that ushered in the late Sushant Singh Rajput into the world of Indian cinema, completed 10 years today. Marking the 2013 films' 10th anniversary, Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor shared throwback pictures from the sets and also recalled how the lead actors of the movie namely, Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao, and Amit Sadh were "dynamite" together. A series of pictures were shared by the director on his Instagram feed. In one of them, we see, Rajkummar, Amit, and Sushant holding the director in their arms while another one had the four men posing together. The poster of the film and some behind-the-scenes shots accounted for the rest of the pictures.
Sharing the pictures, Abhishek wrote, “When a movie hits a decade and still finds a place in people's hearts it gets termed a Classic. I had the good fortune to work with 3 exceptional actors @sushantsinghrajput @rajkummar_rao & @theamitsadh. These boys were just dynamite together, throw in a thespian like @manavkaul and u have a recipe for an explosion that will reverberate a lifetime.”
The film was adapted from Chetan Bhagat's 2008 novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. Hence, Abhishek Kapoor also took this opportunity to thank the author for cooperating with him in making the movie. He wrote, "thank u Chetan for trusting me with ur book)and turning it into a screenplay,". See the post here.
Abhishek Kapoor, who made two films with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput - Kedarnath and Kai Po Che!, had shared a beautifully curated video on Instagram in 2020. The video had clippings from Sushant and Abhishek Kapoor's last project together Kedarnath, the filming of which began on September 11, 3 years ago. Adding an equally emotional note, the filmmaker wrote: "Our last dance together kicked off 3 years ago on this day in Kedarnath. I have vivid memories of our times together, brother. How I wish you knew how much you were loved by your fans... How I wish that you were not made to believe otherwise by some vicious minds. How I wish you could see how your fans are fighting to bring you justice. They have turned the world upside down for you." He signed off the post saying, "I can almost hear you say, "Jaane do Sir, kaam bolega." See the post here.
