New Delhi:
Tabu, who is all set for Rohit Shetty's comedy drama Golmaal Again, said that in spite of doing several films, people still complain that she does not take up a lot of projects, reports mid-day. Tabu, who was last seen in Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor, said, "I have worked in Haider, Jai Ho, Talwar, Drishyam, Fitoor and Golmaal Again in the last few years, but still people say that I don't take up as many films as I should," reports mid-day. The 45-year-old actress added, "That is not correct. This question has been asked to me for the last 25 years."
"Now I ask you, tell me where are the actresses who were my contemporaries, right now?" mid-day quoted Tabu as saying.
Tabu will share screen space with her 1994 film Vijaypath and 2015 film Drishyam's co-star Ajay Devgn in Golmaal Again. For Vijaypath, Tabu won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Tabu has featured in several Hindi, Telugu, English, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali films. She made her Bollywood debut with Manmohan Singh's Pehla Pehla Pyar. Tabu's performance in Gulzar's Maachis (1996) was highly appreciated and she also won the National Film Award for Best Actress for the film. In the same year, Tabu won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the Telugu film Ninne Pelladata and also featured in a comedy drama Saajan Chale Sasural, co-starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
Golmaal Again is the fourth film in the Golmaal franchise. Actors Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor will reprise their roles in the film while Parineeti Chopra, Tabu and Neil Nitin Mukesh are the new additions to the film's cast.
Of Golmaal Again, Tabu told Mumbai Mirror: "I've wanted to do a light-hearted film for a long time, more so because my mother was fed up of me doing rona-dhona roles."
The film is scheduled to release on Diwali this year. Apart from Rohit Shetty's film, Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar starring Zaira Wasim in the lead role, will also release this Diwali.
We already can't wait to see what Tabu has in her Golmaal store for us!
