Chennai: The Tamil movie AzhagarsamyinKuthirai has been selected to be screened at the 36th TorontoInternational Film Festival being held in September 2011.
According to a press release, it is the only film from South India to be selected atthe festival in the Contemporary World Cinema category.
"This is a prestigious segment where the best of worldcinema is selected and compete with one another," it said.
The Tamil film is based on a story penned by writerBhaskar Sakthi.
Directed by Suseenthiran, the film's music has beenscored by Illayaraja. The films stars Appukutty and SaranyaMohan.
