Rishi Kapoor was full of praise for Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Mumbai:
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has called Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan's Tanu Weds Manu Returns a "modern-day" version of his 1982 film Prem Rog.
Mr Kapoor wrote on Twitter
The film's director Aanand L Rai promptly thanked Rishi Kapoor for his compliment and said he was left 'speechless' by it.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns, a sequel to the 2011 hit film, focuses on the ups and downs in the life of a married couple Tanu (Kangana) and Manu (Madhavan) and how they eventually re-discover love.
The film features Kangana in the double role of Tanu and Datto and also co-stars actors Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepak Dobriyal and Swara Bhaskar. It got massive response not only from the critics and the audience, but also from the film fraternity.
Prem Rog, directed by the legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor, revolves around a man of a 'lower caste' who falls in love with a widow who belongs to a higher status.
