Nicki didn't actually name Taylor in her tweets:
If I was a different "kind" of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well.

Ellen did her own anaconda video and did the #choreo lol. Remember her doing that kick . Even mtv did a post on the choreo @MTV remember?

U couldn't go on social media w/o seeing ppl doing the cover art, choreo, outfits for Halloween...an impact like that & no VOTY nomination?
NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015
When the "other" girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.

If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year
NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015
Taylor Swift, who is in the running for Video of the Year for Bad Blood, however presumed that the last tweet referred to her. The video, which features her as a feminist action hero, also includes women with 'very slim bodies' such as Taylor herself and her friends Selena Gomez, supermodel Karlie Kloss and actress Jessica Alba. She responded with this tweet:
@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..

Nicki denied that the barb was aimed at Taylor but insisted she'd be collecting the trophy for Video of the Year - for which she is not nominated:
Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13

Oh but trust me. I'll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda. NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) July 21, 2015
Taylor Swift, who has had the last word on the matter (so far), invited Nicki Minaj to join her on stage if she won:
@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You're invited to any stage I'm ever on.

Responding to a tweet from a fan, Nicki Minaj suggested that her absence from the nominations in the major categories was due to the bias against black artistes.
I'm not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it. https://t.co/2xOvJzBXJX

Not many will agree with her, given that Beyonce is up for both Video of the Year and Best Choreography, the two categories Nicki thinks she should have been in.
The VMA Awards will be held on August 30 and will be hosted by Miley Cyrus.
