London: Pop star Taylor Swift read an emotional speech for her newborn godson, the child of actress Jaime King and her director husband Kyle Newman during her California concert, reported Contactmusic .

The 25-year-old Shake It Off hitmaker paid a touching tribute to four-week-old Leo Thames during her concert at Santa Carla's Levi's Stadium in California on August 15, as she dedicated a song to the little boy.

Speaking before performing Never Grow Up, she told the crowd, "I wrote it when I was like 18 or 19 but my friend just had a baby and she made me godmother. "When you're holding onto something that's so innocent and so perfect and has no idea what's coming for it in the world. The world is going to throw so many things at you as we grow up," she said addressing little Leo.

Footage of the touching dedication quickly spread online, with Jamie among those who watched and shared it on Twitter. The delighted Sin City actress also mentioned how "blessed" she is to have Taylor play an important role in her son's life.
