Hey folks, it's time to revise your film calendars. You can now take a trip to the desi version of Riverdale and meet Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton on December 7 this year. Well, the stars of Zoya Akhtar's adaptation of The Archies, announced the film's release date and they did it in style. Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, singer Aditi Saigal (who goes by her stage name Dot), Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda posed next to a live billboard on Mumbai's Western Express Highway. FYI, the billboard features a countdown timer which tracks the number of days left for the film's release on Netflix.

Meanwhile, Netflix India shared a video of the cast posing with the billboard at the Western Express Highway and they captioned it, "Hamari kahaani ka countdown shuru ho chuka hai (The countdown to our story has begun). This is a daily reminder that #TheArchies are making their grand entrance on December 7th. #100DaysToGo."
The Archies promotions so far have been anything but conventional. This year, on Independence Day, the film's cast served food to guests at The Bombay Canteen and pictures from it obviously went viral.
The film's teaser was released at the grand Netflix Tudum event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, earlier this year. "You've seen them in comics, in books, and in Riverdale - but this time around, you'll see them in India! Set in the 60's, The Archies builds a world that's both familiar and new. Here's your first look," wrote the makers sharing the teaser.
The Hindi adaptation of Archie Comics has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and it has been co-produced by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Sharad Devarajan under their production houses Tiger Baby and Graphic India. It will release on streaming giant Netflix. The character Archie Andrews first appeared in the Pep Comics and gained insane popularity in as a standalone character in the pop culture.
