Way back in April 2005, Tom Cruise announced he was dating Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes, 16 years his junior. Today, they're getting divorced. Katie is 33, Tom will be 50 on Tuesday, July 3.

We have to confess, though, that we aren't all that surprised.
Katie is believed to have felt that life with controlling Tom was turning her into a "robot," just like the tabloids have always maintained she is all through their five year marriage. Tom's controlling streak has often been in evidence, and has always seemed more than slightly creepy.
