New Delhi: Actor Akshay Kumar, who is all set to return to television as the special judge of reality comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, said that 'an actor is nothing without comedy,' reports news agency IANS. "Comedy is an art of which imitation and roast are a part of. It's always about the way you perceive the art that makes a difference. I am of the opinion that an actor is nothing without comedy," Akshay said in a statement, reported IANS. "I have been in so many movies where comedy has been an essential element," the Singh Is Kinng actor added.

Akshay Kumar said that he would 'love' for the contestants on his new comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge to make fun of him, reported IANS.

"I think I would enjoy it thoroughly," IANS quoted the 50-year-old actor as saying.

Akshay Kumar has hosted the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi, the first season of Master Chef India and Dare To Dance.

The Great Indian Laughter Challenge marks Akshay Kumar's return to the small screen after a gap of nine years.

In an earlier interview with news agency PTI, the actor said that 'television is not easy as you work continuously.'

"There are several cameras monitoring you. I have learnt to admire people who work on television shows, be it the artiste or other team members. We film actors don't value things," Akshay told PTI.

The Great Indian Laughter Challenge will be aired on from Saturday. The show will feature comedians Zakir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal as mentors.

Akshay Kumar is well known for his role in comedy films like Hera Pheri, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Welcome and Singh Is Kinng.

Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for Reema Kagti's Gold, co-starring TV star Mouni Roy. His other upcoming projects are R Balki's Padman and 2.0 with superstar Rajinikanth.
