The Lunchbox starring Irrfan Khan is not a typical commercial film but will surprise everyone, says Vivek Rangachari of DAR Motion Pictures, one of the co-producers of the movie which has been widely appreciated in festival circuits.
"I know today it's all about 200 and 250 crores but The Lunchbox is not a typical commercial film. The film has a universal appeal and will have wider audience. It's a very unusual film," Rangachari told IANS.
He says the film was made on a medium budget.
"It's not a very high budget film and I am not allowed to reveal the budget right now. But all I can say is the film was made on a medium scale, it's not an expensive film. We did the post production in Germany and France and editing in New York," he said.
Rangachari has also produced Irrfan's recent film D Day and says he is a wonderful actor and they are looking at a long term association with him.
"Needless to say he is a wonderful actor, we hope to do many more films with him," he said.
