It's been 10 years since Noah wrote 365 letters to Allie - a letter a day for a whole year - in The Notebook, the movie that defined romance for an entire generation.
In June 2004, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams went from being a former Mouseketeer and the meanest girl from Mean Girls to legit stars, almost overnight. They have The Notebook, an adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, to thank.
Ryan and Rachel dated off-screen as well. It didn't work out for them in real life, but it did work out for the characters they play in the movie who take a boat ride on a river crowded with ducks...

The Notebook was directed by Nick Cassavetes and co-starred Gena Rowlands and James Garner as the elderly versions of Allie and Noah.
