New Delhi:
Phoebe Buffay and her new F.R.I.E.N.D Taylor Swift sang a duet version of Phoebe's greatest hit Smelly Cat to what was certainly her biggest audience yet. Perhaps also the most appreciative.
Actress Lisa Kudrow and Taylor delighted the crowd at Staples Center in Los Angeles which was the Bad Blood singer's August 26 stop on her 1989 World Tour.
And yes, it's still 's-mmm-elly' cat.
Taylor retweeted a fan:
On Twitter, Lisa thanked Taylor:
Yes, thanks Taylor. Fans of the sadly departed and sorely missed F.R.I.E.N.D.S - which is most of the TV-watching world - are currently in the throes of sheer, unadulterated exhilaration. (Also Read: Time Travel With F.R.I.E.N.D.S: This is How They Looked in 1994. And in 2004 )
The auditorium was clearly (as heard in the video) beside itself as Lisa and Taylor sang, and Smelly Cat has been trending on social media ever since.
Here's the 'Buffay original', as Phoebs would call it:
The above video was from an episode in the second season, when Phoebe recorded the song for a company. In the fifth season of F.R.I.E.N.D.S it was revealed that Phoebe's father Frank Buffay used to sing the song as a lullaby to her. (Also Read: The One With the 20 Funniest F.R.I.E.N.D.S Moments)
