Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan mourned the demise of Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, calling it a great loss to the music industry.
"The sonorous silk voice of Jagjit Singh silent now !! A great loss to the world of music and Ghazal .. Prayers and condolences ..," the 68-year-old actor posted on Twitter.
The 70-year-old Ghazal singer passed away at 8.10 am in Lilavati Hospital on Monday morning.
Earlier also Bachchan had prayed for the speedy recovery when the renowned singer was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital on September 23 after he suffered brain haemorrhage.
"Jagjit Singh that great ghazal singer is critical with brain hemorrhage ..speedy recovery...He's the man with the silken voice, smooth and endearing in all his ghazal renditions ..," he had posted as soon as the news broke about his illness.
