Washington:
Rapper Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, are a match made on Instagram. They love each other, monochromatic clothes, coordinating outfits (perhaps in that order) and, according to a recent GQ profile, there is practically nothing Mrs West can do to drive her genius husband crazy.
But perhaps there is one thing that the Wests might argue about on an all-new episode of Keeping up With the Kardashians: George W. Bush . In 2005, West famously declared that then-president "George Bush doesn't care about black people." More than a decade later, that outburst is still one of West's most famous public ad-libs, delivered while the frustrated rapper appeared on a telethon benefiting the victims of Hurricane Katrina alongside comedian Mike Myers.
In his post-White House memoir, Bush called West's statement "the worst moment of my presidency."
So to borrow a line from another one of West's public adversaries, these two have got Bad Blood.
But none of that matters to Kardashian West, who despite the history between her husband and the 43rd president, still thinks Bush is "cute."
During a meeting for one of her three apps, captured in the GQ profile, Kardashian West and her team debate the appropriateness of her feelings for Bush, revealed during a "candid" video of her and her girlfriends playing a game in which each player organizes a list of potential partners into different categories.
Kardashian West's friend Malika Haqq, a frequent star on the family's reality franchise, declares that she would "kill" Bush, as opposed to "marrying" him.
"But I love George," says Kardashian West on the video she's considering for the app. Back in the meeting, when the room reacts with silence, she backtracks.
"Wait, can I say that?" asks Mrs. West. "I don't know if I should edit that out."
Her handlers suggest that she should. She considers "Kanye's history with George" but still isn't sure. Apparently Dubya's charisma is just too strong.
"I just think he's cute. Like a cute little president. ... And the (Bush) kids sent us a baby gift. Let me think about it."
In the end, the video gets sliced and diced. Kim's private assessment of Bush ends up on the editing-room floor. But like most of the Kardashians' private life, the behind-the-curtain blip eventually makes it into GQ magazine.
