Mumbai:
Actor Prashantt Guptha will soon be seen with Sonam Kapoor in the upcoming film Neerja Bhanot and he says that it was a delightful experience to work with the actress.
The Ram Madhvani-directed biopic will have the Khoobsurat star play the role of Pan America flight attendant who lost her life trying to save the life of passengers from on board terrorists on September 5, 1986.
The actor said that there was "no nervousness" working with the 30-year-old actress as she is very humble.
"Sonam was an absolute delight to work with, very humble. Her resemblance to Neerja Bhanot had to be seen to be believed. I was aware Sonam would be playing the title role of Neerja and I was simply excited to share screen space with her. I think she is gorgeous and I'm also a die-hard fan of her father (Anil Kapoor)," the actor told PTI. (Also Read: Sonam Kapoor: Feel Blessed to Play Neerja Bhanot in Biopic)
Prashantt, who was an admirer of Mr Madhvani's work ever since he saw a documentary made by him on Amitabh Bachchan, jumped at the opportunity to star in the film.
"Neerja happened after I came across an article about director Ram Madhvani, who had selected this story to make a film. It seemed fascinating to me because it had something to do with Pan Am Airlines, which was my chosen and favourite airline growing up in America in the 80s and 90s," he said.
"I was fortunate that Ram sir was cordial of my interest in working with him and offered me the opportunity to audition for a pivotal role, which I eventually received," he added.
"From Neerja', I expect and hope to progress a few notches in the upwards direction. As this would probably be my biggest release until now, I am hoping, more than anything that it leads to credible recognition" he said. Prashantt will next be seen in 19th January with Deepti Naval and in Irada along with actor Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi.
