New Delhi: Kamal Haasan sent his wishes to Dilip Kumar on Twitter after the veteran actor was discharged from Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Wednesday evening. "Welcome back home Dilip Kumar Saheb. One among your millions of fans in the South of India," Kamal Haasan tweeted. Dilip Kumar, 94, was taken to the hospital a week ago. He was being treated for dehydration and kidney malfunction. Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu also thanked the doctors and the actor's fans who wished for his speedy recovery. Dilip Kumar was photographed outside the hospital on a wheelchair and was accompanied by Saira Banu. The couple has been married for over five decades now. Here's what Kamal Haasan tweeted.
 

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, singer Lata Mangeshkar shared an old picture of herself with Dilip Kumar. "Main aur mere Rakhi Bhai," she captioned the post. The 87-year-old singer had earlier wished Dilip Kumar a speedy recovery. "She tweeted, "Mujhe news dekhkar pata chala ki Dilip Kumar ji ki tabiyat acchi nahi hai. Unki sehat mein jald sudhaar ho yehi meri Ishwar se prarthana."
 
 

Lata Mangeshkar has provided playback for many of Dilip Kumar's films like Madhumati, Devdas and Mughal-E-Azam.

In the last few years, Dilip Kumar has been admitted thrice. He celebrated his 94th birthday in the same hospital last December. After he was discharged, Saira Banu addressed the press and said, "It was a nightmare for him to deal with the sudden deterioration of his health. He is in good health now. All of it felt like a nightmare, how he suddenly fell sick. I am thankful to the Almighty. This has been a miracle," reported news agency IANS.

Saira Banu also used Dilip Kumar's Twitter account to thank his doctors and fans.
 
 
 
 

Dilip Kumar is the star of films like Madhumati, Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna and Naya Daur. His last film was 1998's Qila.

Dilip Kumar received the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994.
