New Delhi:
Akshay Kumar's latest production venture with Paresh Rawal, OMG Oh My God! releases today. The film, which stars Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal and is directed by debutant director Ashvini Yardi, is based on a Gujarati play Kanji Viruddh Kanji.
The story revolves around a shopkeeper (played by Paresh Rawal) whose antique shop is destroyed when a natural disaster strikes and he decides to take God to court. Akshay Kumar, a modern day Lord Krishna, visits Paresh Rawal as an unexpected guest.
According to Akshay Kumar, the project was a result of pure passion for the concept. "Oh My God is not a film which I made to earn money. It's a film which I loved, enjoyed it because I enjoyed the play and what I learnt from the play, I just wanted to share with the audience and that is why I just made this film," Akshay Kumar had said in an interview.
Akshay Kumar left no stone unturned to fit into the shoes of his character. According to reports, he turned vegetarian and also read the Bhagavad Gita to portray the role of Lord Krishna.
For the first time, actress Sonakshi Sinha has done an item number Go Go Govinda, a Janmashtami song, with choreographer-director Prabhu Deva in the film.
