The first Friday of the year 2014 brings with itself big releases, both in Hollywood and in Bollywood.
It's Hollywood versus Bollywood at the box office on the first weekend of 2014. Martin Scorsese's film The Wolf Of Wall Street will give competition to Bollywood films, Mr Joe B Carvalho and the 3D version of the 1975 cult classic Sholay.
Martin Scorsese collaborates with actor Leonardo DiCaprio for the fifth time in The Wolf Of Wall Street, which is based on a novel by Jordan Belfort. Leonardo DiCaprio portrays the role of a stock broker involved in securities fraud. The movie also features actors Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey.
Other Hollywood releases include Ben Stiller's adventure drama The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Keanu Reeves' 47 Ronin.
In Bollywood, Arshad Warsi is back with the comedy film Mr Joe B Carvalho which also stars Soha Ali Khan and Jaaved Jaffrey. Directed by Samir Tewari, the story revolves around a detective, played by Arshad, caught in a case. Soha plays Arshad's assistant in the movie.
The much awaited 3D version of epic film Sholay also hit the screens today. According to reports, the 3D version of the film directed by Ramesh Sippy and featured Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar and Hema Malini, has been made on a budget of approximately Rs 20 crores.
