Aurangzeb, The Great Gatsby and The Reluctant Fundamentalist are up for release at the box-office today.
New Delhi: The box-office today offers action, crime and drama.

First up for release is crime thriller Aurangzeb directed by Atul Sabharwal. The film features actors like Arjun Kapoor in a double role, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sashaa Agha.

Made with a budget of Rs 25 crore, Aurangzeb is a film that revolves around the construction mafia in India. Yashvardhan is a real estate owner played by Jackie Shroff, who indulges in illegal activities. The police crack down on him by replacing his son Ajay (Arjun Kapoor) with an lookalike named Vishal.

Rishi Kapoor plays the role of a cop in the film and Amrita Singh will be seen playing mother to Arjun Kapoor's character.

Arjun Kapoor, who debuted last year in Bollywood with Ishaqzaade, is already garnering praises from senior actors like Rishi Kapoor and Jackie Shroff for his performance in the film.

Rishi Kapoor said: "Any actor has to be focussed about his work, needs to have passion and dedication for his work. His passion should show in his work and that I have seen in Arjun."

"We are friends also. I will pray and bless you (Arjun) that you do good, make your parents proud and make your own image and reputation in the film industry," the 60-year-old said.

Also releasing today is Amitabh Bachchan's debut Hollywood film The Great Gatsby.

Based on the novel by F Scott Fitzgerald of the same name, the film features Leonardo DiCaprio, Toby Maguire, Carey Mulligan, besides Big B.

Directed by Australian Baz Luhrmann, the movie opened the 66th edition of Cannes International Film Festival on May 15.

At the film's premiere in New York earlier, deafening cheers from the crowd left the American press looking for Leonardo DiCaprio. The noise, however, was for Amitabh Bahchcna who only has a single scene in the movie.

"Back from The Great Gatsby premiere and has to be said... the EF (extended family) was the main attraction. Simply superb! American media, fans, security in shock. Thank you my ED, and thank you to those that cheered their lungs out. US media thought Leonardo had come, when noise went up," Big B tweeted after his "fantastic" experience.

The third film which will face the music at the box-office is Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

The film is based on the novel by the same name by Pakistani author Mohsin Hamid and features Kate Hudson, Kiefer Sutherland, Meesha Shafi, Liev Schreiber, Riz Ahmed, Om Puri and Shabana Azmi.

The film revolves around a young Pakistani man who chases corporate success on Wall Street. He finds himself embroiled in a conflict between his American Dream, a hostage crisis, and the enduring call of his family's homeland. It is about the meteoric rise and fall of a Pakistani migrant in the US.
