Four shorts celebrate Indian cinema in Bombay Talkies while Shootout At Wadala is a gangster film.

Two big films are up for release at the box-office today. One is a tribute to Indian cinema on completing 100 years and the other is a story of mafia don Manya Surve.
First up for release is Bombay Talkies, a tribute to Indian film industry to mark the centenary year. Bombay Talkies brings on the screen four different stories put together by directors Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee.
The film features actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukherji, Katrina Kaif, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saqib Saleem in the leading roles.
The film also features a special song where as many as 20 actors from Bollywood have come together, including the Khans - Aamir, Shah Rukh and Saif Ali - as well as Bollywood divas Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerji. Others who feature in the song are Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.
Karan Johar wants to make a sequel to the movie. "I would love to make a sequel to Bombay Talkies. I hope we all come together to make yet another film may be after some years...to do it all this over again," he said.
Director Zoya Akhtar, who has directed one segment in the film is pretty excited about its release. "I am very excited, the film releases Friday. It's fun, very special, has been made by the four of us, four different films, three very awesome directors. I am a little nervous but looking forward to it," the 39-year-old said at a special screening of the film.
Bombay Talkies will also be screened at the Cannes International Film Festival, which will start on May 16 and go on till May 26.
Next up for release is Sanjay Gupta's gangster film Shootout At Wadala. The film is based on the first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai police, where gangster Manya Surve was shot dead, which took place at the junction next to Dr Ambedkar College, Wadala, Mumbai on November 1, 1982.
The film, which is a sequel to the 2007 film Shootout at Lokhandwala, features John Abraham, who plays the role of Manya Surve, Kangana Ranaut, Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sonu Sood.
The film also features item numbers by Priyanka Chopra and Sunny Leone. Priyanka's first ever item number is titled Babli Badmaash Hai. Sunny Leone danced to the song Laila for the film.
