Subhash Kapoor's movie Guddu Rangeela, featuring Arshad Warsi and Amit Sadh as a kidnapper duo, releases today. Set in Haryana and based partly on the infamous Manoj-Babli honour killing, the movie offers glimpses of workings of the khap panchayat as well. This is the second collaboration between Arshad and Mr Kapoor who have previously worked in Jolly LLB. The director told PTI,"Arshad was the first one to come into my mind" for the role of Rangeela.
The movie stars Amit Sadh of Kai Po Che! fame along with Aditi Rao Hydari, who features as Baby, a young girl who eventually falls in love with the character of Guddu.
Meanwhile, the controversial song Mata Ka Email from the movie has garnered a lot of views since its release.
Bollywood also has Second Hand Husband starring Dharmendra along with popular Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal and Govinda's daughter Tina Ahuja who is making her Bollywood debut with the film. The movie is a comedy-love story which centers around Gurpreet and Rajbir,who are on the hunt for the perfect groom for Rajbir's ex-wife.
Bezubaan Ishq, which is a story of unspoken love and stars Mugdha Godse and Sneha Ullal along with actor Nishant, also releases today.
Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Malayalam thriller Drishyam, also hits screens today. Kamal Hasaan, who plays the role of a cable operator Jeethu Joseph, told IANS,"It's a script that has been tried-and-tested in several languages and has successfully worked every single time."
Actress Gauthami features as Mr Hasaan's onscreen wife.
Papanasam is also being made in Hindi, titled the same as its Malayalam counterpart Drishyam, and stars Ajay Devgn as the protagonist.
Diljit Doshanjh's Sardaarji is out today as well, and promises a treat for fans of the popular Punjabi singer-actor.The monster movie this weekend is likely to be Hollywood's sci-fi action offering, Terminator Genisys. The fifth movie in the blockbuster Terminator series is set in the year 2029 and features Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke and, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, just as he had promised with, "I will be back".
