New Delhi: The Bollywood v/s Hollywood war at the box office continues as two biggies get all set to release today. Not to forget that it's also Valentine's Day.
This year Bollywood has something different to offer on the day of romance. Instead of the usual rom-com, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor will be seen in the high-drama action movie Gunday. It may not be the movie you'd pick for a romantic date but it has plenty to recommend itself - Priyanka's oomph, Ranveer-Arjun's bromance and high adrenaline action.
Based in Calcutta during the 1970s, the movie deals with the life of refugees Bikram and Bala, played by Ranveer and Arjun respectively, while Priyanka plays a cabaret dancer - the love interest of the gunday - Nandita.
Hollywood movie Her, nominated for five Oscars, is all set to release in India today. The genre-spanning Her is a science fiction/romantic comedy/drama written, directed and produced by Spike Jonze. The movie revolves around a man who develops feelings for a computer operating system with a female voice and personality. Starring Scarlett Johansson and Joaquin Phoenix, Her has already won a Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay.
The second Hollywood release is Winter's Tale, starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Russell Crowe and Will Smith. The movie is the story of a thief who falls in love with a dying girl suffering from tuberculosis, set in 1916 and present-day Manhattan.
Action, emotion and romance - the perfect combination for a perfect Valentine weekend. So make your choice and grab a bowl of popcorn.
