Today's big releases: <I>Madras Cafe</i>, <I>JOBS</i>

New Delhi: The controversial Madras Cafe, produced by and starring John Abraham, is today's big offering from Bollywood. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Madras Cafe also features Nargis Fakhri and will mark the debut of actress Rashi Khanna. The movie is deals with the Sri Lankan civil war that ended in 2009 with John playing a RAW agent. The release of the Tamil version of the film is uncertain as certain pro_tamil groups have objected to the portrayal of the LTTE in the film.

Shoojit Sircar, director of Vicky Donor, insists the film portrays RAW agents in a realistic manner and they won't be jumping off bikes or doing high-octane stunts. Mr Sircaar has previously dealt with the subject of insurgency in the 2005 film Yahaan. Rockstar actress Nargis Fakhri makes her second screen appearance, playing a journalist, in Madras Cafe

Also releasing today is JOBS, a biopic of late Apple chief Steve Jobs, starring Ashton Kutcher. Parts of the film, depicting Steve Jobs' famous visit to India in the '70s, have been shot in New Delhi and Vrindavan.

Priyanka Chopra makes her Disney debut in animated feature Planes, as the voice of a character named Ishani. Planes also features the voice of Desperate Housewives actress Teri Hatcher.

Ooops a Desi, an action thriller film directed by Jenner Jose, also releases today. It stars a little-known cast of Buali Shah, Adnan Khalid, Pragathi Yadhati and Gideon Samson.
