It’s a double delight at the box office with Nautanki Saala! and Commando releasing today.
New Delhi:
Movie-goers have a double delight in the offing with a romcom and an action film releasing today.
First up for release is Rohan Sippy's Nautanki Saala!. A romantic comedy, the film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur in the lead.
Nautanki Saala! revolves around Ram Parmar (Ayushmann Khuranna), who meets Mandar Lele (Kunaal Roy Kapur), a lonely and troubled man. What ensues is a tale of friendship and bonding amid all the hardships of life.
Nautanki Saala! also features Pooja Salvi, Evelyn Sharma and Gaelyn Mendonca. Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Ramesh Sippy, the movie has been made on a low budget.
Ayushmann Khurrana, whose debut film Vicky Donor won three National Awards, has sung and composed the song Saadi Galli in the movie. The song is already a hit online. He has also sung Tu Hi Tu in the film, which is composed by Mickey McCleary.
Ayushmann feels that he is lucky to act and sing in his films. "I would say that I am fortunate that I am getting an opportunity to sing in my films. There are hardly any singer-actor or actor-singer in Bollywood," the 28-year-old said. He had earlier sung and composed the superhit song Paani Da Rang in Vicky Donor.
Next up for release is action movie Commando. Directed by Dilip Ghosh and produced by Vipul Shah, Commando features Vidyut Jamwal, former Miss India Pooja Chopra and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead.
Vidyut, who was earlier seen in the 2011 movie Force, plays the protagonist in the film.
The producers of the movie are already thinking about doing a sequel of this high-octane action film if it does well at the box-office.
"Hopefully if Commando does well, I will start with Commando 2. We are waiting for the audience to love it so that we can quickly begin with the sequel," producer of the movie Vipul Shah said in an interview.
Newcomer Vidyut Jamwal said that it was a privilege to play the solo lead. "It's a very big privilege for me to come as a solo lead. I am very happy that Vipul Shah and Dilip Ghosh have given me this privilege," the 32-year-old said.
But the actor also feels that the biggest challenge in making an action film is that the audience has stereotypical expectations from this genre. "The problem with action film is that everybody says 'Oh it is an action film so there will be nothing but just action and fights. It will be brain dead. Unfortunately, people have this mindset because it is action," Vidyut said.
