The English actor was praised for his portrayal of Loki, the Norse God of Mischief in Thor and The Avengers
Los Angeles:
British actor Tom Hiddleston will reportedly not reprise his role as Loki in the sequel to The Avengers.
The 32-year-old, who played the villainous Asgardian god Loki in the 2012 film, is unlikely to return for the action sequel, according to director Joss Whedon, reports contactmusic.com.
Quizzed about a specific phrase used by the character in last year's The Avengers, Whedon told Empire magazine in an interview: "Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-Hulk smash moment and you'll be looking for 'quim'.
"First of all, imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well. Second of all, Loki's not there to say those terrible things. Although I do think we should bring the word back, not as an insult, it's just a nice word."
