Mumbai:
Author Chetan Bhagat, whose book "The 3 Mistakes of My Life" has been adapted into the film Kai Po Che! by director Abhishek Kapoor, says it was a tough task to make a movie out his work. Nevertheless, he has praised the director for doing full justice to it.
"It was a very difficult story as it is of an epic scale, very intense and there are certain issues in the story which should be treated very sensitively. Abhishek has done it (well). He has made a great, impactful film," Chetan Bhagat said at the movie's premiere.
Meanwhile, Chetan Bhagat says the three lead actors of the film -- Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav -- have shown extraordinary commitment to the film. He said it is rare in Bollywood.
"All three of them are very committed actors and they have worked very hard. They had starved for three days only to look weak in a scene of the film. They have shot for the film in 50 degree temperature in Ahmedabad. This level of commitment is very rare in Bollywood and you can see it on the screen as well," he said.
Kai Po Che! premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this month. It releases on February 22.
