Ranbir and Deepika in Mumbai
New Delhi:
The Internet is obsessing over an old interview of ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in which the actors told People magazine about their first date and revealed how they fell in love with each other. Ranbir and Deepika started dating in 2008 while they were shooting for Bachna Ae Haseeno. However, they parted ways a year later. It was reported that the 34-year-old actor's parents Neetu and Rishi Kapoor were unhappy with his relationship with Deepika. The actors have remained good friends post their break-up and have worked together in films like Tamasha and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Well, it's throwback Thursday, so we thought about sharing a few excerpts from Ranbir and Deepika's 2008 interview that is going viral on social media.
In the interview to People magazine which has been carried by rediff.com Deepika revealed that they both heard about each other while filming their debut movies ( Om Shanti Om and Saawariya) as they had common makeup artists - Bharat and Dorris. Deepika said that Dorris once told her that Ranbir is a 'really sweet boy' and she should meet him.
Recalling how Dorris invited Ranbir Kapoor while hanging out with her, Deepika Padukone told People Magazine, "That's when we first spoke and exchanged numbers. A few days later, almost around the same time (July 2007), he asked me out for lunch. He came and picked me up and we went to Celini at Grand Hyatt (Mumbai) for lunch."
Ranbir and Deepika met frequently post their lunch date.
Ranbir Kapoor seemed to 'clearly remember' what Deepika had worn on their first date. "I clearly remember she was wearing a white ganji and white linen pants. She had her hair tied up in a bun," Ranbir told People magazine in the interview which has recently been carried by rediff.com.
The Rockstar actor also revealed that the first movie he watched with Deepika was Mr Bean's Holiday.
Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Jagga Jasoos. He is currently busy shooting for Rajkumar Hirani's yet-to-be-titled Sanjay Dutt biopic.
Deepika Padukone is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati along with Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
